Mission:

As the Acquisitions Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to support Spartan Investment Group’s Acquisitions department in evaluating new potential acquisitions. This role also serves an asset management function and involves collaborating with other departments to analyze and understand existing portfolio performance. This is a unique entry-level opportunity to join a growing, high-volume company with broad exposure to company operations. Requirements

Outcomes:

  • Develop and Maintain Financial Models: Build and update acquisition, disposition, and supplemental financial models to support investment decisions.
  • Support Transaction Execution: Assist in all phases of the acquisition process, including underwriting, market research, due diligence, site tours, and closing activities.
  • Conduct Market and Asset-Level Research: Analyze macroeconomic trends, local market dynamics, and property-specific data to inform investment strategy.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with internal teams (e.g., Capital Markets, Investor Relations, Asset Management) to evaluate deals, secure financing, and monitor asset performance.
  • Prepare Investment Materials: Create and present investment memos, internal presentations, and pitch materials for use in Investment Committee meetings and with external stakeholders.
  • Track and Analyze Existing Investments: Reforecast and assess current assets to inform hold/sell recommendations and business plan adjustments.
  • Participate in Industry Engagement: Represent the firm at conferences and with industry stakeholders to support deal sourcing and relationship development.
  • Contribute to Due Diligence and Deal Closing: Travel to sites as needed and assist in reviewing financial statements, operational data, and other due diligence materials to support sound investment decisions.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant field (Finance, Real Estate, etc.) preferred 
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate investments and real estate financial modeling 
  • Highest level of expertise in Microsoft Excel 
  • Experience developing pro forma models is a plus 
  • Travel requirements: 50%
