Job Description

Professional, Loving Nanny – Grosse Pointe Farms, MI

Exceptional opportunity for an experienced, loving childcare professional

NOTE: Open to local candidates or nationwide candidates who are open to relocating!

Overview

A wonderful family of five in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI (a beautiful suburb of Detroit) is seeking an experienced, kind, and proactive full-time Nanny to join their household and care for their three young boys (ages 5.5, almost 3, and almost 2). This is a rare opportunity to become part of a warm, welcoming family, where your passion for children and childcare will truly shine.

About the Role

The Nanny will be a steady, nurturing presence for the children, ensuring they are safe, happy, engaged, and thriving every day. The oldest child will be in Kindergarten full-time (M–F, 8:00 am–3:30 pm), while the two younger boys attend a Montessori program three mornings per week (Tues–Thurs, 9:00 am–12:00 pm). The Nanny will be primarily responsible for the two younger children during the day, and for all three boys before school, after school, and on days they are home.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Occasional evenings (for date nights) and rare weekends, as needed
  • Travel a few weeks per year (often Florida in winter + possible summer trips)

Key Responsibilities

  • Childcare is the top priority:
    • Morning routines – getting the boys up and ready, preparing breakfast, packing lunches/snacks.
    • School prep – ensuring everyone has what they need for the day and driving to school if needed.
    • Daily engagement – creating fun, enriching, age-appropriate activities (art, music, building, reading, outings).
    • Organizing and researching classes/activities in the area, playdates, and nanny group meet-ups.
    • Confident, safe supervision at all times.
  • Family Support (child-related):
    • Children’s laundry, beds, and tidying rooms/play spaces.
    • Light kitchen clean-up after meals/snacks.
    • Occasional errands and grocery shopping.
  • Travel with family– a few weeks per year, supporting routines away from home.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A professional, career nanny with experience caring for multiple young children.
  • Warm, loving, and deeply passionate about working with children – someone whose enthusiasm and care are instinctual and genuine.
  • Proactive – able to anticipate needs, take initiative, and manage busy schedules.
  • Confident, capable, and reliable – parents should have peace of mind knowing their children are always in excellent hands.
  • Engaged, positive, and proactive – not just caring for the children, but creating a joyful, stimulating, and structured daily rhythm.
  • Calm, easygoing, and drama-free – a true partner to the parents, and team player who will become part of the family for years to come.
  • Flexible and easygoing – able to pitch in with occasional evenings (date nights), weekends (very rare), and travel with the family.
  • Local or open to relocation (housing provided).

Compensation & Benefits

  • $40/hour, DOE (negotiable for the right fit)
  • 2 weeks PTO
  • Monthly health stipend available
  • Relocation assistance if needed
  • Housing for out-of-town candidates  provided – a private, 3-bedroom apartment located 3 miles away from the family home, ensuring both the nanny and the family have privacy, while remaining close by.
  • Family car for use during working hours (candidate should have their own car for commuting/personal use)

Why This Role?

This is more than a job – it’s an opportunity to become part of a kind, respectful, and generous family who will value and support you. The parents want someone equally devoted to their boys’ care and well-being and in return, you’ll enjoy a long-term, rewarding position where you’ll be treated exceptionally well.

If you are a professional nanny who loves children and thrives in an engaging, family-centered environment, this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss!
