Job Description

**Responsibilities** Registered nurses must work within the Marian Regional Medical Center healthcare philosophy by managing quality patient care through the nursing process, coordinating plans of care with the healthcare team, and assisting unit personnel with their tasks. Employees are responsible for several activities, such as completing unit competency assessments, renewing their license by maintaining continuing education units, and successfully passing clinical math exams. In addition to these major responsibilities, the registered nurses may be assigned other duties. Candidates for the registered nurse L&D role must possess certain skills and traits. For example, candidates must be able to work in a team environment, have basic and specialty nursing skills, apply principles of the nursing process, organize and prioritize work efficiently, have clear and effective written and oral English skills, and actively participate in process improvement activities. \#RN@DH **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications:** + Registered Nurse Graduate with 6 months to one (1) year of work experience. New graduates without acute care experience will be considered on an individual basis. + Current California Registered Nurse license or interim permit. + Current approved health care provider CPR certification - BLS within 30 days of hire date. + NRP Certification within 30 days of hire date. + ACLS Certification within 30 days of hire date. + Basic Fetal Monitoring Certificate presented upon hire; or for new graduates achieved within the Orientation Process. + Completion of an Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course within 2 years of employment. This certificate must be maintained. + Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.
